St. Mary's Glacier Elopement

St. Mary’s Glacier Elopement | Meghan & Mario

Meghan & Mario opted to have a St. Mary’s Glacier Elopement in Colorado with their nearest and dearest family and friends! These two Floridians came from 90º weather to 20º weather and braved the windy cold glacier for their wedding day! We hiked up to St. Mary’s Glacier elopement site at dawn to catch the alpine glow on the lake! It was so beautiful as the sunlight hit the top of the mountain on the other side of the lake. When we arrived we could hear the wind blowing under the ice on the lake and bellowing out and cracking, it was such a sound to hear!

When you elope in the wilderness of Colorado, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. We got super lucky after having all the snow last week, to have such a warm, sunny day! The trail for the St. Mary’s Glacier elopement had a little ice on them from the storm. Meghan had an unexpected fall when we were headed up toward the glacier. She was such a trooper and only had a little scratch on her hand. We were so relieved when she popped up and said, "Let’s keep going up!”

Some hot cocoa warmed them up while they sipped in the sunshine on the twisted alpine tree. They also opted to exchange love notes next to the lake before the ceremony. It was a perfect way to say intimate excitement! The close family and friends met us up at St. Mary’s Glacier elopement site for the intimate ceremony of a lifetime overlooking the lake.
