What do I do with ALL of these photos from my engagement and my wedding or elopement?

So the last time you were photographed by a professional was probably when you had your senior photos taken in high school. Needless to say, it's probably been a while! Back in the day, when you did that school picture, your mom was kind of in charge of that. She did all of the ordering and giving out of the photographs because you are in high school and just sitting down to write thank you notes was a big deal. This is more than likely be the first time you are in charge of your professional photographs.

After your engagement, wedding or elopement session you’ll have a bunch of photographs! For your wedding or elopement, I urge you to make a special night of it and I like to call it, Gallery Date Night. So y’all pick a date and then that’s the day you’ll get your gallery delivered. I don’t want you to have any distractions when you first view your images, I want you two to take in the day together, relaxed at home! I always aim for my clients to get those from your computer into your hands. I want you to not only have them but be able to HOLD them and SEE them daily!

First up, BACKUP!

You’ll want to keep these memories forever! Once you receive your images on your gallery you will have the option as the client to download those images for safe keeping. I guarantee one year of online storage, so no need to panic. You can share your gallery with family and friends so you don’t have to take any orders from your favorite people, they can just order their own prints! You do need to back it up in two spots! (I’m super crazy and do 4, but that’s my job!) This goes for personal photographs as well! I recommend you back it up locally and cloud. Locally, I would get an external hard drive to place them on, I personally love G-Drives and have a great track record for them! Another option is Seagate, and I would only get the travel solid state one. For your cloud-based storage, I recommend placing them on Google Photos. The phone version is also really great for all the photographs you are taking daily. And for your phone, you can set it up so it does it automatically.

Next up, PRINT!

After everything is backed up on the computers and clouds, you need to get your favorites printed! Having that daily reminder of your adventures and your love for each will brighten up your every day! Who doesn't want that daily reminded on how much they feel loved! Life is so busy for us all, we’ve got work or you're taking care of kids together, it’s a great way to remember your vows and love.

I recommend getting a few from your engagement printed and framed up on the wall as well as one very large one from your wedding. I’m picturing the large wedding one as a little bit more on the landscape side of the amazing location you picked for your day. I really like it when your friends and family are like, “Cool landscape! OH, Sh*t! That’s your wedding!”  The best way to relive the whole story of the day and easily share it with loved ones is with a fine art album to flip through.

After you get your photographs through the online gallery here are the steps:

First up, we live in a digital world let's back that sh*t up!

Second, let's get them up on the wall and in an album so you have a real Book of Your Love Story!
