Arapahoe Basin Summer Wedding at Black Mountain Lodge

As a wedding photographer, I love Love! Which is good, since I go to so many weddings, but also means that I often get teary eyed on the job when I see all these beautiful love stories unfolding! Katie and Ryan’s mountain wedding at the Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin was absolutely brimming with these misty-eyed moments. The wedding day was filled with so many close family members and friends, the room was pulsing with love and laughter.

Our morning was a bit rainy, but that didn’t put a damper on dancing, heartfelt speeches, and maybe a little whiskey and tequila! There were lots of happy tears both in front of and behind the camera. From sweet tears from the groom during their post-ceremony portrait session in a beautiful meadow, to Katie’s mama tearing up just thinking about her daughter’s wedding dress, to a room full of misty eyes during her sister’s sweet toast to the happy couple. Katie was actually laughing at me for tearing up! During the newlyweds grand entrance to their reception, Katie revealed that her dress was actually a stunning jumpsuit! Their reception decor reflected the mountain theme of Black Mountain Lodge and I loved their choice of having a sweetheart table so they could enjoy a few moments just to themselves during the busy day.

I was so honored to be a part of their wedding day. Katie and Ryan are so perfect for each other. He is a mountain man, yet so attentive and caring in every situation. She is a daring woman and has a very thoughtful approach to life. After many days of skiing double blacks, biking, and hiking at Arapahoe Basin over the years, they have built a relationship full of love and play that will last a lifetime! Congrats!
